ALBERTO TORRES "Latin percussionist" Conguero.
At an early age of 6 yrs old, Alberto has been influenced by his Mother who was a club
Singer and Performer of the Great Music of "Mambo" and "Cha Cha Cha" and "Boledos." As he played on an old pair of bongos that his Grand
Father gave him to the music that his mother was listening to, it was at that time that he not only fell in love with the music, but
knew what he wanted to Be and so it was then that he started to take a great interest in playing the BONGOS. Alberto also was
influenced at an early age and has studied with the great percussionist Armando Peraza in learning the "BONGOS."
He has carried that knowledge to playing the Timbales and now the congas for the group "Orquesta Timbalero." Alberto has also played
side by side as a guest Percussionist with Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri, Tierra, Malo, as well as many other Top local San Francisco
Bay area salsa and Latin groups. He has also played for other Latin, Funk, R & B groups though out Northern California. Alberto
has always had a love for Latin Music, and he pursued with great interest in being a band leader, and playing Timbales for his well
known Latin Jazz group called "Tropical Caliente" that has performed and open for some of the best know Latin groups in the S.F Bay
area for the past 13 yrs. He has now collaborated with Richard Martinez and the salsa group "Orquesta Timbalero" as the "conga" player,
and with other OUT STANDING Bay area Musicians that are NOW and make up one of the BEST Salsa groups in the San Joaquin Valley as well
as the whole Bay area, and that group is .......... "ORQUESTA TIMBALERO"....... QUE VIVA LA MUSICA
