Ernesto "Neto"
Grijalva is a bay area multi-percussionist and vocalist. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Ca.,
Neto was a bit by the "Latin bug" at the age of 10 when he heard the late/great Cal
Tjader for the first time. At the age of 12, he was invited to "sit in" at the rehearsal
with members of the Tower of Power and Cold Blood horn section, the HOOK was set !!!
He started his professional musical career at the young age of 17 playing at clubs,
festivals and for corporate gigs in the bay area with several different top 40-funk and
latin rock band. His musical talent has found him playing in Brazil with Lali Santiago
and the award winning"Salgueiro" samba troop, to the island of Puerto Rico to play with
Jose Cespedes and Bombaso to Cancun Mexico to sit in with "Las Chicas de Cuba." From
recording "smooth jazz" at the Global 1 Studios to Gospel music with the Fortress
mass choir or "Salsa Caliente" with ORQUESTA TIMBALERO, Neto is definitely a main
ingredient in the bay area salsa screen. Ernesto invites all you dancers to come
out and celebrate this beautiful music we call SALSA !!!
