Timbalero was formed by Richard Martinez in 2003. Richard
has been playing music since the late 60's, and has played
with some well known musicans in the bay area, such as: Pete
Escovedo; the late great piano player Carlos Federico; The Juan
Escovedo Band, the late Rico Reyes (formely with Carlos Santana),
and has recorded with recording artist: The Kool Katz band; Mario
Flores Latin Jazz Group; Cuba's great precussionist Carlos Cato;
and piano player Gustavo Ramierz, just to name a few artists.
At the local level Richard Martinez, known as "Timbalero" has
played at the 2003 SALSA FESTIVAL at the John Thurmand
field, that featured comedian GEORGE LOPEZ, the 2003
Hispanic Chamber of commerce 16th of September festival,
and the 2004 International Festival, Along with doing the local
performances in Modesto, Club Max, Fat Cat lounge, Seasons and also
working at Peta's in Stockton (the waterfront), Pete
Escovedo's Latin & Jazz Club in San Jose and other Bay Area event's.
